Wow! Who knew jumping from planes was so exhilarating?? Jennifer Ryder, obviously, duh!!! This book has everything I love about a romance novel. There is pace, humour, wit, complications, resolutions, laugh out loud, tear up complications, resolutions, and love. Ryder has performed this formula with the expertise of a tandem skydiver on his 800th jump.    giphy

Tandem is a story of second chances. It is told in a THEN/NOW format which helps with the story flow. There was never a moment where I was annoyed at the jump backs in time, in fact I anticipated what the next one would hold. My heart broke and healed whilst reading this story. It was such an easy read, and I am so in love with the way Ryder pens words. You’ll fall *out of a perfectly good plane* for this story.

(Please note – there are no skydiving cats involved in this book…but I love this gif!)

Happy Release Day!!

I went into this book blind. I had not read any other book in the series (the first one), and I had not read Riley Edwards before. I was pleasantly surprised with the package that was the book, Freeing Jasper. The story is a lot more than a love story. The author has done well in integrating the world of mystery, action and black ops. Jasper’s character is damaged from decisions he made early on in life, and he uses women as a bandaid. Enter – Emily. Someone he’s met before but refused to listen to his heart. He’s avoided her for months until she becomes a victim of a bank robbery. Jasper acts on instinct and Emily will soon becomesomeone who will slide into his heart and break it open. There was a lot more involved in the story, and I don’t want to give anything away. One of the things I enjoyed the most was it wasn’t all about the sex in this book. It was about the story. It was about breaking and freeing Jasper so he could be the person he was meant to be. Looking forward to reading more in the series, now I’ve gotten to know the secondary characters. Read this book if you like your romances with just a hint of heat, but a lot of action.

My flash review of this book when I finished reading it was “everything and more” I wanted in a sequel. A fab follow-up to the first book Mr. President .
In the newly released follow up to Mr. President, Matt has made it into the White House, but Charlotte has run off to Europe. Making it into the top spot in the country isn’t the same without the girl who got him there by his side. Matt asks her to join him, and what we have is CiC. I really loved the redemption and reunion in this book. How the two tangle together to tackle politics and romance. First and rxrp08kf8xnzi foremost, this is a romance book and I love the way the author has done it. There are no boring politics, and it even includes a little mystery and intrigue (after all, it IS Washington DC!!) I enjoyed reading the ongoing beautiful, blossoming relationship and adventure in the White House. This book is a definite summer smasher, meaning you can read it in one sitting. A great book to give you a little hope for the political future. If only Matt Hamilton REALLY WAS in the White House as “Mr President”!!  I really wanted this review to be more eloquent, but I just don’t know what to say, except – definitely read the book!! *insert smiley emoticon* 😀

Okay, Okay, Okay – Matt Hamilton HAS MY VOTE. Next President of the United States of America. Oh, wait..this isn’t real..and I’m not an American voter. Bummer! This book was all sorts of good! It follows the rise of a young man into an honoured and voteforhamilton-1prestigious role of running for President. Matt comes from political royalty, and has been groomed to do the next top job. Only, he’s not in it alone. Although his family has seen tragedy, he has a campaign crew ready to get him to the top, but will his attraction and want for the newest team member jeapordise everything?

Matt Hamilton knows he has met the person who can help him and his team on their campaign. Charlotte is hard working-like him, comes from political royalty,-like him, and might just be the best damn thing he’s ever seen, in his life (a lot like I imagine, him!). Getting involved with someone on the team is risky, and these two know it. Yet the pull they feel can’t be denied. The chemistry they exude springs off the pages and has you hurrying through to see what’s next. The heartaches and emotions that come from decisions will have you clenching your heart and hoping for more.  I can NOT wait for the next book to come out! This book does end with a bit of a cliff hanger, but it is sooooo worth the read! 

This is my first Katy Evans book and I was really impressed. The way she writes the emotions and scenes captured me and had me reading this book in one sitting.

This book is a wonderful, emotional, heart bleeding story of a man and his dog. Of course, once you read the first chapter you’ll know exactly how the story is going to go. Don’t let that stop you. Steven Rowley tells a wonderful tale of a dog and his owner. I fell in love with the relationship he has with Lily right from the beginning. I mean, surely everyone tumblr_mgoopn41in1rz2ot3o1_1280plays Monopoly and talks boys with their dog, right?! My heart is so full of love, but so heavy with sadness. This is a literary wonder. A book that makes you want to read it, but not continue on because you want to save yourself. You’ll never look at another dachshund without thinking of the beautiful Lily. Being a dog person I feel like I may have invested myself heavily in this book. There’s just no description of the love and loyalty a dog and owner have. Read this book… that’s all I can say. Stepping into the world of the Deacons of Bourbon Street is as thrilling as a fast paced ride on the back of a motorcycle. The first book, Make You Burn, is a scorching read covering loss, love, and tragedy. Sophie tries to navigate life without her father, the president of the local disbanded MC club, after he dies mysteriously in a riding accident. Enter, Ajax, returned home after ten years of exile by Sophie’s dad, slipping into the role of President. 

It was great to read a female lead who gave as good as she got. Sophie did not back down from a guy like Ajax, and was able to me meet him head on, creating chemistry off the charts. There’s a lot of mystery surrounding why Ajax and the three ‘brothers’ were exiled, and whilst you don’t find out in this book, the story line offers enough mystery and clues to start piecing the puzzle together.

“Why had Priest sent four of his most loyal and trusted brothers away ten years ago? Sure, shit had gone down wrong and blood called for blood, but why four exiled lives for one death? That math had never worked”.

I loved the setting of New Orleans-reading her as another character that created depth to the story. The book is full of flawed characters who live in a dark and dirty world. Together, can they create the light that can dim the darkness of the back alleys of NOLA?

A great read for anyone who loves a good, well-written, MC genre story.

Megan Crane is a New Jersey native who had great plans to star on Broadway, preferably in Evita, just like Patti LuPone. Sadly, her inability to wow audiences with her singing voice required a backup plan. Accordingly, she graduated from Vassar College and got her MA and PhD in literature from the University of York in England. She wrote her doctoral dissertation on AIDS literature, mostly so she could wallow in her obsession with the remarkable multimedia artist David Wojnarowicz and her idol, the bitter and hilarious David Feinberg. One of my favourite things about Tara Sue Me and her writing is the ability she has to build a world without to need to micro describe every detail. The reader is encouraged to use their imagination and form the characters and situations from the page to their mind.     

The Master is another delightfully dirty addition to the world of BDSM that Tara Sue Me started in The Submissive. Having the characters from her ‘series’ appear in this book makes it feel like you’re reading about a special group of people, that don’t usually let outsiders in. A true voyeuristic peek into the world of BDSM, both in and out of scenes.

The Master is a must read for anyone who loves eroticism sprinkled with deeper relationships. A stand alone that can be read as a part of the series, or on its own.
