Genre: Romance

Josh Lawson–he’s got the body of an athlete, muscles galore, and thick, tousled bed head hair. He’s always Mr. Serious, but when he smiles it transforms his entire face. I’d quietly lose my cool if that smirk were ever directed at me.But playboys like him don’t go for theatre nerds like me. Especially when the playboy in question is a strong silent type who is my opposite in every way.

I definitely am NOT in love with my best friend’s brother. So why do I find myself dreaming/lusting over his broad shoulders and incredible arms? And why did we practically hook up on the dance floor at his sister’s wedding? I can’t get him out of my mind.

***

Reagan Bennett is not my type. She’s happy, artistic, and deserves the real deal.

I’m moody and only good for a one night stand. But after our impromptu sleepover, I can’t get her out of my head. She’s got legs for miles. She’s creative in all the right ways: she knows all the best spots in New York City and she’s passionate about everything she does. Plus, her chocolate chippancakes are killer.

She’s everything good. I’m not gonna be the one to bring her down.

But the more time we spend together, the harder it is to keep my hands off her. I want her. Hell, I need her. It might be reckless, but it also might be love.

Book Review: Veronica Courtesan by Siobhan Daiko

Title: Veronica COURTESAN
Author: Siobhan Daiko
Genre: Erotic/ Historic
I watch him watching us, imagining how he would take me.
I send him the message with my eyes.
This is who I am.
I am Veronica Franco.
I am a COURTESAN.
I court the cultural elite for fame and fortune, giving my body to many.
And I’m good. So very good. After all, I was taught by my mother, and mother always knows best.
How else to please the future King of France than with the imaginative use of Murano glass? How else to fulfil the desires of all yet keep my sense of self-worth?
But when disaster strikes and my life begins to unravel, I’ll have to ask myself one question:
Is it too late to give my heart to just one man?
Set in Venice 16th Century.

Advisory: sensuously erotic. 18+

SGMyReviewThis book was highly erotic and not for the faint of heart when it comes to explicit sex scenes. However, I think you’ll find that Veronica is a smart woman who does not do things without thorough thought. A symptom of the time, perhaps. This book is set in Venice, Italy in the 16th century. Consequences of life of that time leads to heartbreak and losses, and the sacrifices of the life of a courtesan. Reading this book I found that it was actually less about the ‘sex’ and ‘skills’ of a courtesan, and more about a woman who was trying to make it in a world where women were objects and to survive, you had to rise above and be the object desired. The quote in the book about equality added a nice touch to causes that are still being fought in the 21st century, as they were in the 16th!
Read this if you’re after a historical, erotic novel of love, losses, and sacrifice.
