I absolutely-thoroughly-enjoyed every page of this book. From the moment the book begins, Collins does a fantastic job of creating two main characters that are strong, yet flawed.  Dax and Beck are drawn together by a chance meeting, and from that moment you know these two are meant for each other.  The author does a great job of portraying these characters in an imperfect, tortured, yet beautiful manner. There are a few intimate scenes that were done with class, and conveyed the emotion Dax and Beck felt. In the end, this story is about one man’s journey through the horrors of war, and the tattooed stranger who becomes the solid rock in his life. There is lots of in between plot lines in the book that kept it a great, interesting read. I don’t want to go into them because they will spoil the read. The supporting characters were well portrayed and added another layer to the story.  I was really cheering for Dax and Beck and hoping they’d make it in the end, even through the shitty times. These boys deserve a happily ever after, especially after all they’ve been through, but will they get it!?! You’ll have to read and see!

About the Author: Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students.
