Book Review: Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven (GIF Review)

Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven

While performing the greatest love story of all time, they discovered one of their own . . .

Cassie Taylor was just another good girl acting student. Ethan Holt was the bad boy on campus. Then one fated casting choice for Romeo and Juliet changed it all. Like the characters they were playing onstage, Cassie and Ethan’s epic romance seemed destined. Until it ended in tragedy when he shattered her heart.

Now they’ve made it to Broadway where they’re reunited as romantic leads once again – and their passionate scenes force them to confront the heartbreaking lows and pulse-pounding highs of their intense college affair. For Ethan, losing Cassie was h is biggest regret-and he’s determined to redeem himself. But for Cassie, even though Ethan was her first and only great love, he hurt her too much to ever be trusted again. The trouble is, when it comes to love, sometimes it’s the things that aren’t good for us that are the most irresistible.

Here’s the thing about this book (and it’s sequel, which I have read)…I had heard a lot of chatter online about this book, and when I walked into my local bookstore it was sitting front and proud on the counter display as a part of Aussie Authors spotlight. The cover is gorgeous and I just knew I had to have it! The lady who sold it to me said so many people had read it and were so mad…..because they had to wait for the sequel!! That’s a good sign for a book!!! There are just some books that come along that are so hard to describe. Writing a review that says Guh, Oh My Gosh, So Many Emotions, isn’t something that I can properly express in words. So instead..just for fun.. I made a GIF review. I promise not to GIF review every book (although I might throw in one or two, because I may be slightly addicted to them!!) Anyway, so yes…here is a very brief GIF review of Bad Romeo.

So… we have a boy and girl…drawn together by an invisible string.

A boy who doesn’t know how to express the way he feels….

and a girl…

Passionate – steamy – undeniable….

Or …maybe not.

Will love keep them together, or tear them apart…that’s what I kept wondering as I turned each page..

Ethan needed a good talking to.. his denial was frustrating!

But for all good reasons, ones you will find out as they are woven through the story in a wonderful way.

Leisa Rayven does a magnificent job of switching between timelines seamlessly, making the transitions in the storyline flow without disruption (something I often find distracting in reads) Certainly not in this book..

Be warned… you may end up looking like this:

…and if someone tries to talk to you while you’re reading the book.. you may do this..

I won’t mince my words. This book is not a sweet, happy read. It’s heartbreaking, but beautiful.
…and when you get to the end you’ll be like… WHAT…

I need to KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.> WHAT HAAAAAAAPPEEEEEENNNNS!!!

BUT THEN…. you realise… Book 2 – Broken Juliet is ALREADY OUT!

So you rush out and buy it (or download on your Kindle) and dive back into a heartwrenching story ALL OVER AGAIN…because… Torture. You Love It!
